CAMERATA PHILADELPHIA is an ensemble without musical boundaries. Whether a chamber music ensemble or a symphonic orchestra, the CAMERATA not only brings a new and distinct interpretation to the classical repertoire, but also seeks to bridge the styles of classical, jazz, folk and world music – each program an eclectic and richly diverse musical offering. Committed to music education for all ages, it is the mission of the CAMERATA to make the experience of great music accessible to all.

Under the direction of its founder, cellist and conductor Stephen Framil, the CAMERATA has performed in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Michigan, ensemble-in-residence at the Port City Music Festival (North Carolina); and collaborated with violinists Tim Fain (USA), Julia Bushkova (Russia), Carla Trynchuk (Canada), Barbara Govatos (Philadelphia Orchestra), and Leah Kim (Korea); pianists Max Levinson (Boston Conservatory), Julie Nishimura (University of Delaware), Tomoko Kanamaru (College of New Jersey), Michal Schmidt (Haverford/Bryn Mawr/Swarthmore Colleges), and Daniel Lau (Washington Adventist University); the Louis Taylor Jazz Quintet, William Douglas Jazz Quartet, Diane Monroe Jazz Trio, the West Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale.

Music on Chestnut is a series of concerts hosted by the West Catholic Philadelphia Community Conservatory, and open to the greater Philadelphia community. Featuring both regional and international artists, each concert offers an eclectic variety of musical styles, including orchestral, chamber music, choral, and jazz. Committed to serving the community, Music on Chestnut provides an affordable world class musical experience for all to enjoy.
